Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. Winding through many trees and bushes, the eighteen-hole course was built around a nature trail in the local park system. These things are quite a bit easier to carry than a bag full of iron. Also, the course takes up a lot less space, since the holes are only about 1/3 as long as a standard golf course. Less environmental impact due to fertilizer and water also, since it is left au naturel.
But our skills could use some work.
I'm acutally pretty happy with my score, although I was robbed on a few putts. But the best part about playing was that someone in the group inevitably hits an amazing, jaw-dropping, how the heck did you pull that off? kind of shot. My daughter, even though she had a poor overall score, managed a couple of these wtf shots. It happens just often enough to make you want to try to do it on purpose.
