  1. The Marquette ore dock looks almost like a Viking house. Several of these photos look like they could have been shot in one of the Scandinavian countries (during the summer, of course). I wonder, is this one of the areas in the northern Midwest with a large Scandinavian settlement?

      The largest of the Great Lakes, and the cleanest. Too cold for swimming this week, though, even the Canadians weren’t getting in.
