Water cycle

Mind like water
River winding throughout the day
Stagnant swamp or babbling cascade
A mighty torrent battles fierce
Trickles seeking soft reflection
Puddling, diverting, blending, still
Yielding and warm, laughing vapor
Steam uncontained, spray unrestrained
Sated and damp droplets cooling
To icy sleep

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly writing challenge: “Ice, Water, Steam.”
