go look at xkcd
It’s ironic: we’re now running around with these Star Trek-like devices in our pockets, able to look up information in a few seconds, track our heart rate and number of miles we’ve walked, and order a meal or a ride in a matter of minutes. Yet our civilization appears to be right on track to killing itself, unless everyone on the planet makes a massive attempt to change their ways. Which we won’t, just from looking at the progress of this year’s presidential race.
I have to agree. We are where we are because large, stupid segments of our population have been putting their head in the sand for forty years. They’ve destroyed our democratic process, our environment, and our livelihoods because they can’t imagine ever putting limits on themselves.
